Centrally located in the beautiful and historic St Katharine Docks alongside the River Thames, just a two minute walk from Tower Bridge and the Tower of London. Join Henry VIII and his court of knights, troubadours, contortionists, magicians, jugglers, minstrels and medieval tumblers at this most royal of banquets and enjoy a four course feast with ale and wine brought to your table throughout the meal by our dancing wenches...
Our banquets are cooked in house using fresh ingredients led by our Head Chef. After the banquet our enthusiastic guests are keen to get up and have a dance themselves so we play club music till late.
The medieval-themed show takes place amidst the banqueting tables throughout the cellar, so you can be sure of a great view. The entertainment can include: King Henry VIII, his Queen and Noblemen, Sword fighting knights, Dancers, Court Jesters, Acrobats, Musicians and Singers. Audience participation is welcomed — there are many opportunities to dance with the cast, sing, hit your fists on your plate and cry for your wench to bring you more food or drink!
All this takes place with the history of 1000 years beneath your feet! Our production pays homage to this history and notably to the Knights of Portsoken, a group of 13 knights in the retinue of 10th century English King, Edgar the Peaceful. The king gifted to them this very land upon which the banquet sits in recognition of performing three acts of bravery, one above ground, one below ground and one in the water, or so the legend goes. Each evening during the banquet our knights assemble to preserve the history of this ancient rite with an elaborate display of swordfighting.
Costumes and hats are available to hire directly from the venue for each show.
