This tour offers a fantastic opportunity to take in some of the most beautiful parts of Madeira’s Southeast coast.
The first part of the tour will be a visit to the Monument to Christ the King in Garajau. From there, to the friendly village of Santa Cruz and Machico the 2nd town where the Portuguese Navigators first landed in 1419.
Continue your journey to Caniçal, the fishing village where in old times the whale fishing was the main activity and where scenes of the film Moby dick were shot at sea in front of this village.
Finish your journey in Santo da Serra where you will have the opportunity visit a traditional garden in a local "quinta" and enjoy a little stroll before you head back.

Tour Availability: This tour operates on Thursday only.
Hotel pickup is included. If possible this will be from the hotel entrance (if the road does not allow the bus/minibus to pass, pick up from the nearest point to the hotel) .
For hotels outside the Funchal and Caniço areas the departure for the tour will be from the company office.
For clients staying at Quinta do Lorde or outside Funchal and Canico, please note there will be a small supplement (approx. €25 per person) to transfer to Funchal.
For clients staying at Calheta Beach and Saccharum, please note there will be a small supplement (approx. €40 per person) to transfer to Funchal.
The tour will end where it began – either at your hotel or the company office.

Ends: Approximately at 13:00
Duration: Approximately 3.5 – 4 hours
Transport for the tour will be a minibus or coach depending on the number of passengers on the tour.
On a minibus the driver will be the guide, on a coach there will be a guide in addition to the driver. Guides will be English speaking.
Comfortable clothing (summer and a cardigan), adequate footwear, sun cream and a hat are recommended for this excursion.
