This levada walk takes place on the northeast part of the island, through the Laurel forest.
The walk starts at Ribeiro Frio which is also known as the “Cold stream”. This water channel is an important system which is used to irrigate the farmlands of this area.
By walking through this native forest you can observe the local birds commonly found in Madeira.
The walk ends in Portela which is an important vantage point overlooking the villages of Faial and Porto da Cruz.
This full day trip includes 4 hours of walking and includes a picnic lunch.
Hotel pickup is included for Funchal Hotels. If possible this will be from the hotel entrance (if the road does not allow the bus/minibus to pass, pick up from the nearest point to the hotel) .

For clients staying at Quinta do Lorde, Calheta Beach and Saccharum or outside Funchal, please note there will be a small supplement (approx. €10 per person) to transfer to Funchal.
