Jewish Life in Berlin Walking Tour

A tour of the old Jewish quarter which – despite the devastation of the Nazi era – is now home to a revitalized Jewish community.

We explain how this history is dealt with today and how the Jewish community is rebuilding itself.

Discover some of the hidden sights of a bygone era: Find out where the Old Synagogue was built and visit the final resting place of Moses Mendelssohn in the Old Cemetery; see the new Jewish School and marvel at the domes of the New Synagogue; learn where Otto Weidt, Berlin’s own “Schindler”, ran his workshop, and where the successful “Women’s Protest” helped save almost 2,000 Jews from deportation to the death camps.
