Discovering Brighton If it weren't for Dr Richard Russell in 1750 then there would be no Brighton tour. In fact there probably wouldn't be a Brighton at all! His recommendation that ailing patients drink and swim in Brighton's sea water to cure ills such as 'affectations of the glands' changed a small and rapidly declining fishing village into the elegant health resort most beloved by Royalty and the rich. Thank You Dr Russell! Thanks to him and luckily for us Brighton today is a thriving vibrant and cosmopolitan place to visit with lots of wonderful sights along the tour route. Some of the highlights include the 17th Century Brighton Lanes full of antique designer and jewellery shops; the spectacular Royal Pavilion reminiscent of the Taj Mahal; family friendly Brighton Pier; and the Sea Life Centre with its breathtaking walk-through aquarium! Plus... Children under 5 years old go FREE!
