Ancient Thira is situated on a unique location at the top of Messa Vouno Mountain (356m).

The excursion begins in Kamari, it takes about 10mins to reach the site. The excavations uncovered the ruins of ancient buildings, sanctuaries & temples, inscriptions and carved stones of the archaic period and also the ancient theatre situated in excellent location with panoramic views across the Aegean Sea.

Please note entrance fees and meals are not included.

Please note: Occasionally actual days of operation are subject to change. If this is the case we will endeavour to book a day as close as possible to your original preferred day. Should this not be acceptable a full refund will be made.

This is a trip by mini-bus and pick-ups are at Kamari only. There are various times throughout the day for departures and returns. They are as follows:

• Departures from Kamari: 08:30 – 09:30 – 10:30 - 11:30 and 12:30
• Return: 10:00 – 11:00 – 12:00 – 13:00 and 14:00

Guide is not included in the price. We provide you a map with the description of the area. This excursion includes the bus transfer only.

Please phone the local Santorini office at least 24 hours before your booked Tour departs to get confirm your details. You will then get your voucher sent to you at your hotel with all the final information.

We recommend you wear comfortable clothing and adequate footwear.

We do not recommend that people with walking or mobility difficulties partake in this tour.
